Some ways in selecting audio materials would be by means of:

 

1. Canned production - It pertains to digital audio files that are accessible and downloadable in the Internet. Some samples are (Olric, n.d.):

 

a. Streaming audio - It allows you to listen to the audio file's first part while the rest is still loading.

 

b. Podcasting - These are recorded audio files that are distributed in the Internet.

 

c. Internet Radio - It refers to radio stations you can listen on the Internet.

 

d.  Portable digital players - These are devices where you can save your downloaded audio files and listen to it with such accessibility.

 

 

2. Production - It pertains to own creation or production of audio files (as cited in Ambulo, 2011, p. 2).

What are some tips for users of canned production.

a. The content of your audio materials are updated.

 

b. The audio materials have good quality (it can clearly be heard, understandable, and no unnecessary noise that can hinder one's hearing and listening).

 

c. Also, audio materials must be downloaded from legitimate sites and sources are properly cited (it determines the credibility of your sources, and to avoid copyright issues) (as cited in Ambulo, 2011, p. 2).

What are some tips for users of production?

a. For good quality output, you must invest on good quality equipment, and must familiarize on how to operate them.

 

b. And then, sound checks to be conducted prior to recording, and ensure to minimize backgroud noise.

 

c. For smooth conversational flow of dialogue, don't adlib, make a script (as cited in Ambulo, 2011, p. 2).
